Family Fun in Toodyay
Toodyay is a historic farming town 85km North East of Perth. While known for our historical attractions, there are plenty of things to see and do with the family. Whether you are into cute and cuddly or loud and adventurous, Toodyay has something to keep all ages entertained.
Toodyay Miniature Railway
The Toodyay Miniature Railway is located by the river at Duidgee Park. All aboard the colourful miniature trains as they meander along. Keep your eyes open to see if you will spot friendly dragons, the mischievous Moondyne Joe, dancing sheep and a stockman with his dog. The trains range from diesel engines to coal fire steam and battery operated.
Duidgee Park
Catch your breath at Duidgee Park. Situated along the river’s edge, Duidgee Park is the perfect place to enjoy a bbq or picnic. Adults can relax while kids play on the playground, skate park or just run around on the grass. Explorers can stroll the Bilya Walk track that follows the Avon River or simply play by the water’s edge.
Free Range Emu Farm
Visit the oldest emu farm in the world at the Free Range Emu Farm. Explore the farm and see the adult emus, nests and chicks in an enclosed but natural setting. You can even watch the incubation and hatching process (in season). For a take home memento, the emu shop offers locally made and produced therapeutic oils, soap, feathers, meat, carved and non-carved eggs as well as souvenirs and books.
