 Selection Criteria

 

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of heritage conservation principles, practices, and related legislation.
  • Sound knowledge of museum and collection management and conservation practice.
  • Demonstrated research skills and ability to produce supporting evidence.
  • Well-developed time management and organisation skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as working independently.
  • Highly developed written communication skills including correspondence, email and report writing.
  • Highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of Work Health and Safety issues and practices

Desirable

  • Experience with electronic collections databases such as MOSAIC.
  • Ability to plan and manage budgets.
  • Developed skills in the supervision/co-ordination and training of staff or volunteers.
  • Experience of knowledge of marketing or production of promotional materials.
  • Experience or knowledge of preparing reports on heritage, urban design, and related matters.
  • Experience in museum management or related service.
  • Preparation of funding submissions

 

Qualifications / Licences / Clearances

  • Tertiary Degree in museum studies, cultural heritage studies or other related disciplines
  • Current WA C class Motor Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Pre-employment Medical
  • Evidence of a right to work in Australia.
