Toodyay Library Closure and Services Update
Toodyay Library staff are working to ensure that you have access to the books, audiobooks and DVDs on our shelves, as well as our available eResources, while the library is closed to the public. Our approach may be different, but we are still working behind the scenes to keep you entertained and connected during these difficult times.
Borrowing Items
In addition to carrying out thorough hygiene practices, including cleaning and quarantining all returned items, we have put in place the following services to help you access library resources:
- Contactless Library Collection For library members who are interested in physical collection, we will select items from our shelves and leave them on a trolley by the side door of the library for pickup. These will be packaged, marked with your name and issued to you – so you can simply grab and go.
- Contactless Home Delivery For library members who are self-isolating and/or unable to come into town to collect items, we will be offering a weekly home delivery service. Pre-selected items will be delivered to your front door or gate and we will notify you of their arrival.
If you would like to be involved in our collection or home delivery services, please contact us between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, on 9574 2323. If you are yet to join the library and would like to become a member in order to take part, give us a call and we will create a membership for you over the phone.
Returning Items
Items may be returned via the after-hours chute located at the front of the library. If you cannot make it into town or are self-isolating, you may hold on to your items and return them once the library reopens to the public. Returns will not be accepted as part of our collection or home delivery services.
eResources
We offer a range of free eResources to our members, and encourage you to explore them as an alternative to borrowing from our physical stock at this time – all you need is a smartphone or tablet and a wifi connection to get started. Choose from the following or take advantage of them all:
- BorrowBox eBooks and eAudiobooks
- OverDrive/Libby eBooks and eAudiobooks
- Kanopy Movies and documentaries
- RB Digital eMagazines
Visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (for Android users) on your device to download the app/s of your choice, and follow the setup prompts. You can also visit Resources for more information and direct links to all listed eResources. Note that access requires you to be a current library member, so contact us if your membership has lapsed or you are yet to join. Also feel free to get in touch if you have any questions concerning the use of eResources.
