Local Heritage Survey and Heritage List Review Underway

The Shire of Toodyay is currently reviewing its Local Heritage Survey (formerly known as the Municipal Inventory) and Heritage List.

This important project, led by Stephen Carrick Architects on behalf of the Shire, involves photographing and inspecting properties already listed as Local Heritage Places with a view to update Place Record Forms with the most accurate and current information.

The Shire encourages property owners and occupiers to contribute any new information that may enhance the understanding of existing heritage sites.

Nominations of new sites to be considered for inclusion in the local heritage survey are welcomed.  Tell us what heritage places are important to you and provide as much information about the place as possible, using the Shire’s nomination form located on the Shire’s website (https://www.toodyay.wa.gov.au/documents/municipal-inventory )

The Shire invites nominations and submissions by 4.00pm on Monday 28 October 2024.

The Shire undertakes to keep all personal details regarding you (the nominating party) confidential and will not release any personal details, except to the extent required by law or with your consent.

Your cooperation is vital in assisting Stephen Carrick Architects in their assessment.

This review is being overseen by the Shire’s Executive Manager Development and Regulation, Hugo de Vos.   After the review, all places will be evaluated for their cultural heritage significance. Property owners will be informed about the assessment process and invited to participate.
