P&C members approved a donation of $16,000 for facility improvements at Toodyay District High School at the P&C term one members meeting on 2 March.
The donation will contribute much needed funds towards resurfacing of the basketball court in the primary school area; installation of lockers for secondary students; installation of a playground shade sail; and new library furniture for student use.
The P&C has applied for a grant from CBH to enable the installation of shade sails over two remaining school playgrounds. If successful, the school will have shade sails over all playgrounds by the end of the year.
What’s next you ask? We have set our sights on beautification of school grounds.
Canteen volunteers are welcome
The school canteen is seeking volunteers on Mondays and Fridays. Canteen volunteers are essential to providing students with a canteen service at recess and lunch. The canteen generates income for P&C initiatives and every dollar raised directly supports students.
Swimming carnival cake stall
the P&C provided a pre-ordered sausage sizzle for students and a cake stall for spectators and students at the recent swimming carnival. A well deserved treat as well as much needed energy.
We welcome your input into fundraising and ideas about how we can collectively improve facilities and access to resources and opportunities for all students at Toodyay DHS.
Beautification of school grounds
We are forming a working group to develop plans to improve school grounds. We want to create an environment that generates a sense of place and belonging, stimulates play and supports learning.
If you have ideas or expertise to help us create a plan we want to hear from you.
Toodyay DHS is a community asset and we welcome the contributions of community members that can support our vision for a school environment that inspires students, staff and the community.
